Research notes
Evidence conflicts. DBU Athletics added esports in Nov 2019, partnered with NACE in Feb 2020 and hired a head coach (Grant Brady, Aug 2024). LCU's 2020 release called DBU's program varsity. But dbupatriots.com lists Esports under 'Club Sports', so club is used. The 2026-27 roster lists Smash Bros., Marvel Rivals and EA FC players.
