The 2024 CAWIC Bursary Program – Call for Application (Upto $2,000). Through its Bursary Program, Canadian Association of Women In Construction (CAWIC) helps promote education and encourage women to pursue careers in the construction industry.
Each year, the CAWIC Bursary Committee awards outstanding women with $2,000 bursaries. The 2024 Bursary Program is now open, and applications are due June 28, 2024.
The Bursary Process
In order to help CAWIC identify potential applicants for bursaries, we approach various Canadian post-secondary institutions that provide diploma or degree programs in construction-related disciplines to distribute information to students on our bursary program.
The Bursary Committee reviews all of the applications received, and recipients are then selected based on meeting the required criteria.

CAWIC Canadian Association of Women in Construction 2024 BURSARY CRITERIA
Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) is a not-for-profit organization supporting women in the Canadian construction industry. One of its mandates is to promote education and encourage women to pursue careers in the construction industry.
CAWIC annually offers a number of bursaries to female students enrolled in construction related studies at Canadian post-secondary institutions and trades schools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must identify as a woman.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status. · Completed first year of a diploma or degree program at a college or university and full-time enrolment in the subsequent year.
- Skilled trades applicants must be enrolled in a minimum 1-year program at a college or registered trades school.
- Evidence of financial need.
- Leadership qualities and involvement in community activities. Demonstrated interest in activities that further the advancement of women in construction, and involvement in related community activities.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed application form.
- Completed budget form.
- Applicant must register for a free CAWIC Student Membership via our website.
- Two (2) reference letters, including one from a current college or university instructor. Letters from family members are not acceptable.
- Most recent grade transcript.
- Cover letter outlining career objectives in the construction industry and the areas in which they intend to participate in CAWIC activities.
Submissions missing any of the above requirements will not be considered
Deadline for application submission is June 28, 2024. All applicants will be contacted in August 2024.
Please note: Successful recipients will be required to provide proof of their continued enrolment at college/university by July 31st of the current year, provide their SIN No. and will be asked to provide a 1-minute video outlining what inspired them to pursue a career in construction.
