HESLGBÂ News today – HESLGB Extends Loan Application Window for 2024/2025 – The Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) wishes to inform stakeholders and students of the extension of the loan application window for the 2024/2025 loan cycle to July 15, 2024.
This extension is intended to provide ample time specifically for the students who have just been selected to begin their higher education in various public universities and colleges. HESLGB is committed to ensuring that every deserving student has the opportunity to apply for financial assistance.
Key Points to Note:
1. Application Process: All applications must be submitted online via our Student Financing Management Information System (SFMIS) at sfmis.heslgb.mw. Current loan beneficiaries can log in using their existing credentials, while newly selected students should register using their candidate number from the public university selection list released by NCHE /Copy of MSCE/ O Level for private universities.

2. Required Documents: Applicants must upload their Guarantor Consent Form, National ID, and a copy of parent’s/guardian National ID.
3. Application Fee: All applicants ensure that the non-refundable application fee of K7,500 is deposited to the designated account numbers, and upload the proof of payment to the system.
4. Eligibility: The loans are available to students pursuing higher education at an accredited public or private institution. Applicants must meet the set eligibility criteria to qualify for the loan products on offer.
5. Special Categories: The Board, through the World Bank-funded Skills for a Vibrant Economy (SAVE) project, is particularly encouraging female students studying through Open Distance e-Learning (ODEL) in programs such as Health, Education, ICT, Agriculture, and Energy at public universities to apply for loans.
The new Deadline is July 15, 2024.
