German Federal Cultural Foundation World Cinema Fund For Filmmakers

German Federal Cultural Foundation World Cinema Fund For Filmmakers – Attention filmmakers! World Cinema Fund has opened their call for applications for production & post-production support.

The World Cinema Fund was initiated in 2004 by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the Berlin International Film Festival. It quickly established itself as one of the leading institutions in the field of international film funding for artistic and innovative productions.

The WCF focuses on supporting the production and distribution of films from Latin America, the Caribbean and Pacific region, Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, as well as Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. For a detailed list of eligible regions and countries, please see the Country overview (485 KB).

The aim is to promote high-quality filmmaking in regions with weak film infrastructure, while at the same time bringing cultural diversity to German cinemas and supporting cooperation between German and European producers and partners in the WCF regions and countries.

All WCF films completed to date have been shown in cinemas and/or at prestigious festivals. Many have also won major awards, a sign of the initiative’s global success.

The WCF offers support in the production, post-production and distribution of feature films and creative documentary feature films.

In cooperation with other institutions, new initiatives have also been launched to develop activities beyond their own funding programmes.
