Los Angeles County 2024 Arts Internship Program (Paid)

Applications are open for the Los Angeles County 2024 Arts Internship Program (Paid) – The LA County Arts Internship Program supports and strengthens the cultural sector of LA County by providing access to high-quality opportunities for college students of all backgrounds to gain experience, understanding, and transferable skills relevant to careers in the arts, the creative economy, and engagement in public life.

The 2024 Arts Internship Program will provide 228 university & community college students with paid on-the-job experience at over 160 nonprofit orgs across the LA region. All positions provide 400 hours of work experience at $17.28/hr

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program, which provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, film, media, literary, municipal arts, social justice and social service nonprofit organizations as a companion program to the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, which provides internships to museums and visual arts organizations. The purpose of the County’s program is to provide undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience working in nonprofit arts organizations.

Interns will be able to work from June 1, 2024 – March 1, 2025 depending on the needs of the organization. Every organization sets its own start & end dates, hours worked per week as well as on-site versus remote work parameters, so prospective interns are strongly encouraged to carefully review each individual posting and inquire about these details with the organization.

Eligibilty

2024 Arts Internship positions will be open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 – December 1, 2024. The Department of Arts and Culture encourages eligible students from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as disabled students, to apply. Eligible students may participate in the program only once.

Note:

  • Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible for the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
  • Students who have previously participated in the program are not eligible to participate a second time.
  • Students must posses the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Students who are invited to participate in the program will be asked to provide verification of eligibility via college transcripts, driver’s license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence.
