Gauteng Jobs and Skills Programme Walk In Site – Gauteng Provincial Government together with The Department of Employment and Labour, Unemployment Insurance Fund hosts a Jobs & Skills Programme for people of all ages in Gauteng townships with the aim of assisting the youth and jobless population in the nation.
Under the program, youth without jobs and recipients of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) will have the chance to launch their own enterprises or become incorporated into the workforce.

Program Duration
The duration of the opportunities will be 12 to 36 months. As has been the fund’s sustainability approach, the money invested in the plan will be recovered by the UIF through contributions and investment income.

SKILLS PROGRAMME TO BRIDGE SKILLS SUPPLY AND DEMAND GAP
- The Gauteng government has recognised the importance of providing youth with skills to enable them to secure jobs.
- The provincial government in partnership with the Department of Employment and Labour will launch the iCrush no Lova jobs and skills development campaign on Saturday, 6 April 2024.
- The programme will be the cornerstone of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s efforts to combat unemployment and reignite economic momentum.
- The programme seeks to bridge the gap between the skills supply and the demands of an evolving South African job market.
- The programme is aimed at benefitting unsuccessful Nasi iSpani applicants and Gauteng unemployed residents who are registered on the Department of Employment and Labour’s Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database.
- During the implementation of the programme over 400 000 registered job seekers will be matched with available job and training opportunities.
