Commemorative Partnership Program for Canadian Underrepresented Veteran Groups. Are you planning an initiative to commemorate underrepresented Veteran groups? Funding up to $25K is available via the Commemorative Partnership Program. The application deadline is June 30, 2024. – Community Engagement funding supports organizations undertaking remembrance initiatives including commemorative activities or the development of commemorative materials.

You can now submit applications for funding up to $25,000 for projects that recognize and commemorate at least one of the following groups:

  • Modern Veterans
  • Women Veterans
  • Indigenous Veterans
  • Racialized Veterans
  • 2SLGBTQI+ Veterans
  • Canadian Armed Forces Veterans who have served our country in domestic operations such as wildfires, ice storms and floods

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until 30 June 2024. Projects must be completed this fiscal year (prior to 31 March 2025).

Who can apply?

Eligible recipients are non-profit or for-profit organizations, in Canada or abroad, as well as Canadian provinces, territories and municipalities. Individuals and federal organizations are not eligible for funding. To be eligible, the project must commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of those who served Canada since Confederation (1867). Projects must also be of a finite duration, with clear start and end dates.

How to apply

Our application process has changed! We’ve launched a new online portal that will make it easier for you to submit your application.

Please review the guidelines and apply through the virtual portal. You can submit your funding application and supporting documents through the portal.

Please note that we no longer accept applications by mail or email.

Application deadlines

Applications continue to be accepted on an on-going basis for requests of $10,000 or less and should be submitted at least three months before the project start date.

  • Up to a maximum of $5,000 for local projects
  • Up to a maximum of $10,000 for regional projects
  • The application deadline for funding up to $25,000 is 30 June 2024. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2025.

To be considered, applications must be duly completed. Veterans Affairs Canada will acknowledge receipt of applications and may solicit additional information. Only applications deemed complete will be assessed. Veterans Affairs Canada aims to notify applicants in writing of its funding decision within 12 weeks, provided that an application is deemed complete.
